Egan Chutes Provincial Park (Our favourite)
A scenic waterfall and hiking spot just east of Bancroft on the York River. Located within Egan Chutes Provincial Park, it’s known for its rugged natural beauty, rocky river views, and a short walk that leads to picturesque falls in a quiet, undeveloped setting. Use the entry on the west side of the bridge.
Zurakowski Park
A public tribute in Barry’s Bay, Ontario, officially opened on July 26, 2003 to honour local resident and world-renowned test pilot Janusz Zurakowski. The park celebrates his legacy, especially his connection to the CF-105 Avro Arrow, the Canadian supersonic interceptor he famously tested.
Kamaniskeg Lake Lookout
Set high above the landscape, Kamaniskeg Lake Lookout provides sweeping views of the lake and surrounding forest, offering visitors a peaceful place to take in the beauty of the Madawaska Valley. It is also a site of historical reflection, with interpretive information about the 1912 Mayflower steamboat tragedy on Kamaniskeg Lake, where nine people lost their lives during a sudden winter storm.
